Berta Block Boulder Hall: Climbing Fun for the Whole Family in Pankow

Bouldering is climbing without a rope, which is why it’s particularly family-friendly. The Berta Block bouldering hall in Pankow offers 1,500 m² of climbing fun for all ages at a safe fall height. Anyone who thinks this is only for sports enthusiasts is mistaken: the halls are very spacious, and different difficulty levels are represented in each hall. Whether beginner or pro, it’s really fun and very entertaining.

The centerpiece of the hall is undoubtedly the so-called „Dicke Berta” (Big Bertha): The freestanding block in the center of the hall provides a summit experience. Surrounding it are bouldering walls up to 4.5 meters high with a variety of holds and obstacles for every skill level. Additionally, for ambitious climbers, there is a special training area for targeted system training.

The Dragon Rock and the Café: So Parents Can Enjoy Themselves Too

Berta Block Bouldering Hall has prepared a lot especially for the little adventurers. Within the 1,500 m² area, there’s a separate children’s climbing area of 50 m² with a maximum height of 3.50 m, which makes learning and trying easy. This area bears the charming name „Drachenfelsen” (Dragon Rock): There, children can playfully and safely gain their first climbing experiences. The hall also offers climbing training for children in two age groups, from 6 to 10 years and from 10 to 14 years.

While the youngsters are scaling the walls, parents don’t have to stand idly by. After a climbing session, you can relax in the cozy café, which offers small snacks and drinks. Berta Block is open Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 11 PM and on weekends and public holidays from 10 AM to 11 PM. The admission price includes both hall access and rental shoes. So, head on over!
