Uzun Masa: Breakfast House and Meyhane in Neukölln
Uzun Masa means “long table,” and indeed, there is one: In front of a wall of birch trunks, at least twelve guests can be seated. The family-run business on Sanderstraße, right by Kottbusser Damm, opened in May 2025. Brick walls, many plants, and round mirrors on the ceiling characterize the space; outside, there are covered seating areas. During the day, Uzun Masa is a Turkish breakfast house, and in the evening, it’s a modern Meyhane.
Menemen in the Morning, Meze in the Evening
For breakfast, Menemen, scrambled eggs with sucuk, and large breakfast platters are served, along with tea from a copper pot. In the evening, the menu changes to many small, homemade dishes: Börek with spinach and feta, Izmir-style stuffed grape leaves, fried liver, shrimp pan, goat cheese from a clay pot, and hummus with pastırma. Rakı, wine, and beer are also available. Reservations can be made by phone.
