In Steglitz, not far from Schloßstraße, Akiko Sushi stands for what good sushi in Berlin is all about: fresh ingredients, honest Japanese cuisine, and prices that pleasantly surprise. No frills, no fusion hype, just genuine taste.

Akiko Sushi: Steglitz Local Favorite with Cult Status

Once you’ve been there, you’ll return. Over the years, Akiko Sushi has built up a remarkably loyal customer base. The restaurant is located at Ahornstraße 32 in Berlin-Steglitz, making it not a Mitte hotspot, but that seems to be the key. Owner Xindi Li places great emphasis on fresh ingredients and authentic preparation. You can taste it. Some guests even travel from other cities to try the creations. Yet, the atmosphere on Ahornstraße remains pleasantly down-to-earth and calm. The focus is clearly on the essential: the food.

The Menu: Classics, Rolls, and Genuine Quality

The sushi restaurant Akiko Sushi in Steglitz impresses with a well-thought-out selection of Japanese dishes. Many guests start with a warming miso soup or a seaweed salad before trying the creative rolls. Particularly popular are the fried Sake-Futomaki with salmon and avocado. Those who like it a bit spicier opt for the Spicy Ebi Rolls with cooked shrimp and a subtle touch of chili. In addition, Nigiri, Sashimi, and Maki are, of course, part of the offering, prepared according to Japanese tradition. The restaurant also stands out for its special consideration of dietary needs: the team offers gluten-free soy sauce upon request and adjusts the rolls accordingly. For those who prefer to eat at home: orders can also be taken to go or delivered within the vicinity above a minimum order value. Either way, the price-performance ratio at one of Berlin’s best sushi restaurants is remarkably fair.
