Solar Restaurant

High above the rooftops of Kreuzberg, Solar Restaurant sits on the 16th and 17th floors of Stresemannstraße, offering a 270-degree panorama over Tiergarten, the Victory Column, and the Berlin skyline. Diners here enjoy modern cuisine with a sharing concept and one of the most spectacular views Berlin has to offer.
Solar Restaurant Berlin: Dinner Above the City’s Rooftops
Even the journey there is an experience in itself. From Anhalter Bahnhof, it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the entrance of Solar, which is slightly hidden in a backyard. Then, the glass exterior elevator takes over: it transports guests directly from the entrance to the sky restaurant at a height of 70 meters. Upon arrival, one immediately understands why Solar has been one of Berlin’s most renowned restaurants with rooftop terrace views for years. The name has hung above the rooftops at Anhalter Bahnhof since 2005 and has since become a small institution above Berlin.
Especially during the golden hour, the restaurant unfolds its full potential. From the terrace, the gaze sweeps over the Brandenburg Gate, Tiergarten, the Victory Column, and even Bellevue Palace. The panoramic rooftop restaurant ensures that no seat is a bad seat: Berlin’s sparkling sea of lights can be enjoyed from every vantage point.
Sharing Cuisine and Sky Bar: What Makes Solar Special
Culinary-wise, Solar focuses on clear quality over quantity. Those who only know Solar as a sky bar miss the second half of the story: the kitchen deliberately operates at a sophisticated level, with robust flavors, fresh products, and a menu designed for sharing and enjoyment. Since 2013, head chef Jon Kremin has shaped the cuisine with artisanal precision and a keen sense of flavors. His creations stand for quality, expressive taste profiles, and modern international influences. The “Sharing Dinner” concept invites guests to discover new culinary worlds together.
If you haven’t seen enough of the Berlin night after dinner, simply head up one floor. The bar offers creative drinks, refined with homemade infusions and exquisite spirits. Guests should note: on busy evenings, a reservation in the restaurant is mandatory; without one, entry is not permitted. So plan ahead and fully enjoy the evening above the rooftops of Berlin.
