Anyone standing up here for the first time is momentarily speechless. Situated on the top parking deck of the Neukölln Arcaden, the Klunkerkranich offers a wide view over the rooftops of Berlin. Below it, a shopping center; above it: blue sky, wooden benches, sand underfoot, and herbs growing directly in the rooftop garden. 1,000 square meters of wood are installed on the parking deck, and in the landscaped rooftop garden, wormwood, thyme, and oregano grow, ending up directly in cocktails. The concept sounds improvised but has long felt like a firmly established Berlin institution. By the way, those who find their way here first have to navigate through the parking garage. Street Food, Drinks, and Cultural Program with a View

The restaurant on the rooftop terrace goes by the name “Zum Fetten Finken” (To the Fat Finch) and is anything but snobbish. The bar serves ice-cold beers and classic cocktails, while the Kantina offers breakfast, lunch, and a changing evening menu: sometimes pasta, sometimes pizza. During the day, coffee and fresh juices are the focus.
