UMAMI

Here you can enjoy creative Indonesian cuisine in a classy environment.

When visiting the Umami in Prenzlauer Berg you’ll get creative yet traditional Indonesian cuisine prepared with fresh ingredients. Located in Rykestraße at the corner Knaackstraße the Umami will immediately catch your eye. Colorful plants and light constructions highlight the appearance of the restaurant from the outside. If you choose to sit outsides, you’ll get a fantastic view on the Watertower of Prenzlauer Berg. Picking a seat inside the restaurant won’t disappoint you though. The inside appears in the style of the 50s in Indonesia. There is one area where you sit on small tables on cushions on the floor – without wearing your shoes of course.

But it’s not just the settings; all meals are excellent and fresh as well. They’re all prepared without any food additives like glutamate and else. The Indonesian cuisine and the menu at Umami are multisided. As a starter you can opt for dumplings with savory herbs broth or a hot soup, among the main dishes are a very delicious Asian BanhBao burger or plates with a variety of dishes for two or more people.

The drinks at Umami are rather special, too. Besides homemade smoothies there are many other tasty drinks.

Top10 Berlin tip: If you’re enjoying a date-night for you and your significant other or bestie you should go for the family dinner (also available as a vegetarian version). Together you can enjoy a variation of starters and main dishes. Ordering a “Coriander Mule” - an alcohol free cocktail with lime juice, ginger, fresh coriander and ginger beer - to go with your dinner will complete your evening.
