Since 1884, Zauberkönig has been selling magic, joke, and puzzle items, making it Berlin's oldest specialty store of its kind. In Neukölln's Schillerkiez, you'll find magic sets and card tricks, as well as courses and shows in its own magic cabinet.

Zauberkönig: Berlin’s oldest magic and joke article shop

Zauberkönig was founded in 1884 and has survived the German Empire, two World Wars, and the construction of the Berlin Wall. Since 2012, Karen German and Kirsi Hinze have been running the business together and have preserved the store’s unique character. The product range extends from classic joke articles and costumes to professional magic supplies for beginners, advanced users, and professionals. The shelves also hold rarities that are hard to find elsewhere, and many adult customers rediscover tricks from their childhood here.

Zauberkönig: Courses, Shows, and Vouchers in the Magic Cabinet

After moving to Schillerkiez, the owners set up a small magic theater. The Magic Cabinet offers afternoon shows for children aged 4 and up, quieter evening performances, and the “Magic Thursday” as a livelier evening format. Magic courses are offered for children aged 7 and up, teenagers aged 11 and up, and adults. A course or show ticket is therefore an excellent unique gift. Vouchers are sent directly by email after ordering or as a gift card by post and can also be redeemed in the store. Zauberkönig is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 to 19:00 at Herrfurthstraße 6a.
