Das Berliner Kiezkochbuch “Aus Kiez und Küche - So isst Berlin”

Our first Top10 Berlin book is a declaration of love to Berlin! A portrait of the capital with its first-class food scene. Together with food blogger Stefanie Laufs from Soul Cuisine, we spent a year collecting recipes from the most popular restaurants in Berlin’s neighborhoods and compiled the best of Berlin’s gastronomy scene into one book. The book includes over 30 recipes from various restaurants across the city, from rustic taverns to upscale cuisine – now available for the first time to cook at home.

Included are, for example, the Restaurant Grosz on Kurfürstendamm, the Catwalk Bar in Mitte, the Restaurant Jungbluth in Steglitz, the Zitadelle Schänke in Spandau, the Mutter Lustig in Köpenick, The Bowl in Friedrichshain, and many more. Delicacies for every taste were gathered, from breakfast items like granola, banana bread, or waffles to main courses like goulash, pot roast, and octopus, and desserts like cinnamon pretzels, strawberry tarts, or date cakes.

The result is a book with a mix of recipes, neighborhood photographs by Berlin photographer Alexander Heide, and interviews with restaurant owners.

The book was published by Nordwest Media Verlag and costs 19.95 Euros. The book can now be purchased in bookstores everywhere and directly in the online shop at Foxbooks or Amazon.
