Located in Halensee, right on Westfälische Straße, Nan Yi Tee is one of Berlin's most traditional specialty tea shops. Since 1982, this family business has offered a selection of over 300 Chinese teas, from aged Pu-Erh to noble Oolongs, combining deep expertise with a sincere passion for Chinese tea culture.
Nan Yi Tee: Berlin’s Hub for Chinese Tea Culture
On Westfälische Straße in Halensee stands one of the city’s most serious tea shops. Nan and Thilo run the shop, founded in 1982, as a pure family business. You notice it immediately. No anonymous salesroom, no cluttered shelves. Instead, an atmosphere awaits here where even newcomers feel immediately comfortable. Nan, the owner, not only sells excellent tea but also advises her customers openly and honestly and always has a tip ready. This clearly distinguishes the specialty tea shop from other Berlin stores that sell tea rather incidentally.
Over 300 Varieties, Yixing Ceramics, and an Online Shop
The selection includes over 300 teas, among them aged and young Gushus, noble Yanchas, authentic black teas, finest Oolongs, as well as natural Mingqian green teas, also from smaller, traditional producers. So, whoever is looking for a Da Hong Pao or a classic Pu-Erh will find exactly what remains undiscoverable in supermarkets here. Furthermore, Nan Yi Tee also carries high-quality accessories: Complementing the tea assortment, there are accessories from Yixing or Jianshui to optimally showcase the teas. Additionally, the shop offers small-portioned packs and tastings to make it easier to get to know the tea. For those who cannot visit in person, there is also a competently managed online shop. Overall, Nan Yi Tee is one of the best addresses in all of Berlin for anyone who truly wants to understand tea.
