The Neukölln weekly market at Maybachufer, usually just called “Türkenmarkt” (Turkish Market) in the neighborhood, is one of the city’s largest weekly markets with up to 180 stalls. On one side is the water, on the other stand the old building facades of Neukölln. The market has been operated by diemarktplaner on behalf of the district since 2015. To this day, Turkish and Arab traders set the tone, selling fruit and vegetables by the crate at prices many supermarkets cannot match.

Gözleme, Olives, and Organic Goods from the Canal Bank

Besides mountains of tomatoes, peppers, and herb bundles, there are olives, pickled vegetables, sheep cheese, nuts, spices, and flatbread. In between, stalls with organic vegetables from Brandenburg, cheese, pasta, and delicacies have established themselves. Freshly baked Gözleme with spinach and cheese, baklava, and freshly squeezed juices are among the classics on the bank. Those who come shortly before the market closes often get fruit and vegetables even cheaper. On every market day, there is also a “TaschenTauschStation” (Bag Exchange Station) where you can take and return shopping bags. Bring cash, as most stalls only accept cash payments.
