Atelier Karin Jordan – In Kleidung wohnen

In Berlin Mitte, on Anklamer Straße, designer Karin Jordan radically rethinks slow fashion: custom-made business wear for women who don't see well-being and sustainability as opposites. Clothing that feels so good, it's like living in it.
Atelier Karin Jordan – Living in Clothes: Slow Fashion That Lasts
JORDAN stands for a slow fashion concept aimed at women who want to combine their joy of beautiful, individual clothing with responsible, resource-saving consumption. What this means in practice becomes clear at the latest during the first studio visit. Beyond fleeting trends, high-quality business attire is designed, produced, and sold directly in the Berlin studio. Everything under one roof, no outsourcing, no compromises. This slow fashion concept was awarded the “Werkstatt N” quality label by the German Federal Government’s Council for Sustainable Development in 2013.
Each model is designed, pattern-developed, sampled, manufactured, and sold on-site in the studio. Everything under one roof, without any outsourcing. The fabrics come from carefully selected sources: In addition to an extensive in-house fabric collection, the studio recommends goods from German, English, and Italian suppliers. The fine selection includes virgin wool fabrics, wool-cashmere blends, cotton weaves, viscose crepe, jerseys, and dupion silk.
Get Measured, Find Your Style
The heart of Atelier Karin Jordan is a sophisticated modular system. The patterns of all models are retained, so favorite pieces can be reordered at any time. All new models relate in design, proportions, color, and fabric to older ones. With just a few new purchases, surprisingly new looks often emerge without giving up cherished wearing habits. So, once you’ve found your style, you can consistently expand it season after season.
What basic body structure you have, what color type you are, and what suits your own nature is developed together in the studio. It’s not about quick decisions: your personal outfit is ready after just four to six weeks, individually crafted in the Berlin studio under fair working conditions. Berlin fashion that you truly feel, every day.
