On Valentine's Day 2019, the Planetarium am Insulaner invites all lovers to a musical evening under the starry sky with the program "Duets".

“Duets” is the title of the special Valentine’s Day event at the Planetarium am Insulaner. Wonderful duets from across music history will be performed under the starry sky of the planetarium! Love songs and famous melodies on the theme of love, from classical to pop, will be heard starting at 20:00 at the Planetarium am Insulaner – what could be more romantic!

The Zeiss Planetarium in Schöneberg is located at the foot of the “Insulaner”, a Berlin rubble hill. It offers young researchers and interested adults a wealth of events in the large dome of the planetarium. Under the artificial starry sky with 360° fulldome projection technology, there is a wide-ranging program for children, teenagers and adults: cool laser shows, astronomical lectures, multimedia events, delightful children’s programs, radio plays and readings – no matter what the weather is like outside!

With good visibility and clear weather, interested stargazers can also discover the real starry sky with their own eyes! However, one has to walk a little way. Because at the top of the Insulaner is the Wilhelm Foerster Observatory. There, with good visibility, one can look through the refractor from 1889. Through the large telescope, you can explore the sky over Berlin and, with good visibility, see the planets with their moons, the craters and mountains of our Earth’s moon, the sun with its spots, and a large number of stars, nebulae, and galaxies.
