In Charlottenburg, in the historic brick wine cellar on Goethestraße, couples learn together what's truly in the glass. The Berlin Wine School combines wine seminars and gourmet evenings in a way that neither lectures nor bores.

Berlin Wine School: Where Wedding Days Taste Like Burgundy

In 2004, chef and certified sommelier Bernhard Moser founded the Berlin Wine School. Since then, it has been a fixture in Berlin’s culinary culture. Wine seminars and gourmet training sessions take place in the relaxed atmosphere of the brick wine cellar. While it sounds like school, it feels more like a very enjoyable evening for two. The Wine School deliberately avoids lofty technical terms, instead imparting genuine wine knowledge that can be immediately applied. Thus, the wine course becomes less of a quiz and more of a shared discovery.

The seminars last approximately four hours and cost between 84 and 119 Euros per person. The offerings range from basic seminars on regions and cheese and wine to special seminars. This allows for thematic customization of a wedding day, entirely according to taste. Wines are not sold afterwards, which clearly distinguishes the seminars from mere wine tastings with sales intentions. Furthermore, all wine seminars are available as vouchers, making them great gifts.

More Than Tasting: Food, Rarities, and Shared Evenings

In addition to classic wine seminars, the Berlin Wine School also offers special culinary evenings where not only selected wines but also freshly prepared dishes are served. This creates a harmony of food and wine as an experience for all senses. For couples who wish to delve even deeper into the subject, the Rarities Seminar is also worth a look: there, one tastes ten top wines together and listens to the explanations of collector and founder Bernhard Moser.

Over more than two decades, the Berlin Wine School has conducted over 1,500 wine seminars, delighting more than 20,000 guests. Furthermore, starting in 2025, the Berlin Wine School will also launch exclusive wine trips with Bernhard Moser. The wine seminar in Berlin can thus also serve as a prelude to a longer journey.
