Havanna on Hauptstraße in Schöneberg has been one of Berlin's oldest Salsa clubs since 1997, spreading Salsa, Bachata, and Merengue across multiple floors with their own bars. An hour before opening, there's a dance instruction session without registration or a partner. For Salsa beginners, this means: learn the basic steps first, then head straight to the dance floor.

Havanna: Latin Club in Schöneberg since 1997

Havanna at Hauptstraße 30 calls itself the original in Berlin Schöneberg and has been a fixture in Berlin’s Latin scene since 1997. The club is spread across multiple floors with its own bars, with the largest dance floor located in the Grand Hall. Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Cumbia, and Kizomba are played, while other floors feature Reggaeton and HipHop. On one of the Salsa nights, the band Tempo Havanna also plays live, which has become rare in Berlin’s club scene. Tables, and even entire floors, can be reserved for birthdays and celebrations.

Dance Instruction before the Party

Those who don’t know the steps can take part in the Salsa and Bachata dance instruction, which begins one hour before the club opens. It is aimed at beginners and advanced dancers; no registration or dance partner is required. Afterwards, you head straight to the dance floor; admission varies between 9 and 14 Euros depending on the evening. The Salsa & Bachata After Work is a more relaxed introduction, while party nights get fuller and louder. If you are coming with a larger group, you should reserve a table in advance, especially for birthdays, which is popular.
