The French Cathedral is centrally located on Gendarmenmarkt, one of Berlin's most beautiful squares.

Together with the German Cathedral, it forms an ensemble and, so to speak, frames the famous Konzerthaus on Gendarmenmarkt. The name Dom is derived from the French word dôme, which means dome. On the back of the French Cathedral is the French Friedrichstadtkirche, where services, concerts, and other events still take place today. Concerts for special occasions, such as the Valentine’s Day concert or the Easter concerts, are particularly popular. In 2014, an Easter morning concert is scheduled for 6 AM on Easter Sunday, and a musical vesper “Le nuove musiche” will be performed at 16:00. Admission is free. After the musical enjoyment in the historic-romantic ambience, a short stroll across Gendarmenmarkt completes the concert experience. The French Cathedral also houses the Huguenot Museum and a viewing platform.
