Open Air Concerts at the Olympiastadion

The Olympic Stadium is located on the western edge of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf

The Olympic Stadium was built between 1934 and 1936 according to plans by Werner March for the Olympic Games and opened on August 1, 1936. From 2000 to 2004, it was renovated for the 2006 FIFA World Cup at a total cost of 242 million euros. Since then, a roof of approximately 37,000 square meters spans over the stands on 20 supports, utilizing about 3,500 tons of steel. The Marathon Gate in the west remains open, offering a view of the Bell Tower. For football matches, the stadium holds 74,475 seats. For concerts that also use the interior space, the capacity is significantly higher. The entire Olympic grounds have been a listed building since 1966 and are considered a high-ranking architectural monument by the State Monuments Office. The owner is the State of Berlin, and the facility is operated by Olympiastadion Berlin GmbH.

Concerts 2026 at the Olympic Stadium

Metallica opened the season on May 30 with a 360-degree stage in the center of the stadium and over 94,000 guests, which was a new attendance record for the venue. They were supported by Gojira and Knocked Loose. Two weeks later, Helene Fischer came with her 360-degree tour, which also played from the center and used four satellite stages. At the end of June, Bruno Mars gave three sold-out evenings, his only concerts in Germany. In early July, a thunderstorm forced the Foo Fighters to briefly evacuate the interior. A week later, System of a Down played their first German concert in nine years, with Queens of the Stone Age as opening act. Die Toten Hosen concluded the series on July 11 to a sold-out crowd, and Farin Urlaub sang “Schrei nach Liebe” together with Campino. For the Foo Fighters, seats started at 82 Euros, standing tickets were around 151 Euros.
