Kater Club
Where Bar 25 once wrote Berlin club history, today the Kater Club stands on the Spree riverbank in Friedrichshain: an open-air club that has made the long weekend from Friday to Monday its principle.
Kater Club on Holzmarktstraße
The club is located on the Spree, sandwiched between the riverbank and the mighty S-Bahn arches, and carries the legacy of its predecessors with ease. It opened in 2014, founded by the team behind the legendary Bar 25. Since then, the site has become much more than just a club: At Holzmarktstraße 25, the Fame restaurant, the Pampa beach bar on the Spree riverbank, and the Mörchenpark urban gardening project have settled.
The FriSaSoMo concept, meaning Friday to Monday, describes a single party that runs throughout the entire weekend. The program ranges from local newcomers to internationally renowned names in house and techno. The door policy values respect but is not considered the toughest in the city, and the regular crowd is accordingly mixed in age and origin.
From Kater Blau to Kater Club
After more than a decade on Holzmarktstraße, the club has dropped the “Blau” suffix and now operates as Kater Club. The ambition remains: a home for electronic music, open to a broad audience, with indoor stages and outdoor areas directly by the water.
An evening’s price ranges between approximately 10 and 50 Euros per person, depending on entry and drinks. From Ostbahnhof, it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the premises.
