Just a few steps from Berlin’s main train station, Capital Beach stretches out as a small oasis directly on the banks of the Spree. The location is hard to beat: with the Chancellery behind it, the main station and the House of the Federal Press Conference in front, it creates a Berlin backdrop that no other beach bar offers. Anyone arriving here immediately realizes that they are in the heart of the capital. Opposite the main station, there is space for up to 800 sun worshippers in beach chairs and lounge chairs, while bar guests and recreational captains on the Spree can wave to each other. In addition, you can board one of the excursion ships of the “Stern und Kreisschifffahrt” shipping company directly from the bar’s jetty and take a boat tour.

The beach bar isn’t actually one, as Capital Beach has a lawn instead of sand, but no less of a holiday feeling. The drink menu more than makes up for it: in a relaxed atmosphere, you can listen to music and choose from a selection of 60 different cocktails, long drinks, and non-alcoholic beverages. For food, there are small snacks such as tarte flambée, baguettes, or light salads. Those who stay longer in the evening will also be rewarded: DJs play from Thursday to Sunday. Capital Beach is open daily from 12:00 from the 2025 season. However, those hoping for low prices should know: the prices are rather high for a beach bar, which is due to its exposed location. Capital Beach is thus one of Berlin’s most remarkable beach bars, precisely because it doesn’t block out city life, but places itself right in the middle of it.
