Kallasch& – Moabit Bar Project: More Than Just a Bar

Kallasch& first opened in 2014 as a pure project and has since been deeply rooted in the Moabit district, where it is less touristy than elsewhere in Berlin. The rustic pub with its retro chic embraces its roots: the walls are unplastered and bear the bar’s name in large letters. Anyone who enters immediately realizes: This is not a concept, this is an attitude.

Kallasch& deliberately does not see itself as a cocktail bar. The prices are intended to make it possible to get excited about the program and still be able to drink a few long drinks. Casualness and an improvised style are the real charm of the place. Berliner Bärenbräu beer, originally from the Moabit Market Hall, is a highlight, along with the finest gins and whiskeys and changing specialties from the neighborhood, such as those from the Prussian Spirits Manufactory in Wedding.

Live Music, Slam, and Open Stage in Moabit

The event spectrum at Kallasch& ranges from concerts and jam sessions to music bingo, readings, poetry slams, and film screenings. Musically, the operators are open to all styles: artists often come from the singer-songwriter and folk world, sometimes also from blues, jazz, or experimental loop music.

The Eagel Slam 1000 takes place every second Friday of the month at Kallasch&. Small pub, full room, sweat-soaked atmosphere. In addition, Kallasch& participates in larger events such as the Kulturfestival Wedding Moabit, the Moabit Music Salon, or the Melodica Festival Night. It is open Wednesdays to Thursdays from 16:00, Fridays and Saturdays until 02:00, and Sundays from 14:00.
