However, the real reason why this venue belongs on this list is an offer that the establishment itself calls GÖNN DIR TICKET (TREAT YOURSELF TICKET). Once a month, an event is selected for which a limited number of tickets are available with a fifty percent discount, obtainable both in advance and at the box office. It’s first come, first served, and a maximum of two tickets per person. Which event is selected for the upcoming month is announced on the venue’s website. If you are flexible, you can get into the theatre for half price. The fact that a venue sets up this discount on its own initiative, rather than only reacting to empty seats, is an exception in the Berlin theatre landscape.

In addition to the monthly discount, Heimathafen offers regular concessions for children aged three and up, pupils, students, Berlin-Pass holders, and sometimes for groups of ten or more people. The ZUGABE TICKET (ENCORE TICKET) works in the opposite direction: a voluntary surcharge when purchasing tickets, which helps fund the fees, rehearsals, and equipment for community formats such as the youth club and neighbourhood club. A reservation costs 2 Euros per booking transaction and is valid for fourteen days; tickets must be collected at least half an hour before the start. When it comes to accessibility, the venue is commendably precise: the hall on the ground floor is step-free, but the studio on the upper floor is only accessible via stairs. Wheelchair spaces are available in the hall, their number varies depending on the production, so registration is requested. Companions with disability pass ‘B’ receive a free ticket, and directly opposite on Saltykowstraße, there are four disabled parking spaces. The Karl-Marx-Straße underground station is about a hundred meters away.
