For this selection, a thermal bath, a spa and an all-round coherent wellness offering were at the forefront. A short journey from Berlin, a setting close to nature and a recovery programme that goes beyond the standard sauna mattered to me. I put together houses with very different focuses, from Ayurveda through medical spa to the family-friendly resort, so that everyone finds their fitting time out.
The Resort Mark Brandenburg on Lake Ruppin in Neuruppin is directly connected to the Fontane Thermal Baths, whose brine comes from Brandenburg's only state-recognized healing spring. From the sun deck of the floating lake sauna, the largest in Germany, you can go directly into the water.
The Precise Resort Bad Saarow is located in a park on Lake Scharmützelsee and features a 4,200 square meter spa with indoor and outdoor pools, an adult relaxation pool, and a sauna with lake views. Three 18-hole golf courses are located directly next to the hotel.
The Spreewald Thermenhotel in Burg is connected to the Spreewald Therme via a weather-protected bathrobe walkway, and its brine comes from a depth of 1,350 meters. For hotel guests, the brine bath and sauna garden are included in the room rate, along with a private wellness lounge.
The Wellnesshotel Seeschlösschen is located on the shores of Lake Senftenberg in the Lusatian Lake District and features a 5,000 square meter spa area with indoor and outdoor pools, a natural swimming pond, and eight saunas. Additionally, it offers its own Ayurveda center and four private spas for two.
Gut Klostermühle is uniquely situated on Lake Madlitz near Briesen (Mark), on an estate that once belonged to Carthusian monks. The BRUNE BALANCE med & SPA includes indoor and outdoor pools, several saunas, and a Medical Spa with a doctor's consultation room and an Ayurvedic doctor.
The Sunday Resort Schwielowsee is located in Petzow near Werder (Havel) directly on the lakeshore, with its own harbor and pile dwellings on the water. The 1,500 square meter spa includes an indoor pool, an outdoor pool with a pool bar, a bio sauna, and a Finnish sauna.
The Hotel Esplanade Resort & Spa in Bad Saarow has its own 3,000 square meter sandy beach on Lake Scharmützelsee and a spa with a year-round warm brine outdoor pool. The hotel only accepts guests aged 16 and over, including in the Day Spa.
The Landhotel Burg in Spreewald on Ringchaussee features a bathhouse with an indoor pool, a heated outdoor pool with views over the Spreewald meadows, and a graduation tower with Burg brine. For children, there is a petting zoo, adventure minigolf, and a playroom.
The Panorama See Resort & Spa in Warnitz is uniquely located on the shore of Lake Oberuckersee in the Uckermark region and has its own bathing area. Across more than 2,000 square meters of spa in two buildings, it offers indoor and outdoor pools, a salt room, and a Finnish sauna with lake view.
The Hotel-Resort Märkisches Meer is located in Diensdorf-Radlow on the eastern shore of Lake Scharmützelsee, with its own beach and jetty. The Sea-SPA features an indoor pool with lake views and a Finnish sauna with a large panoramic window overlooking the water.
