Fontane Therme

The Fontane Therme in Neuruppin is Brandenburg's most renowned wellness destination directly on Lake Ruppin. With Germany's largest floating lake sauna, certified healing water, and an expansive spa area, it combines genuine natural scenery with a well-conceived thermal spa concept.
What makes the Fontane Therme so special?
The centerpiece of the Fontane Therme in Neuruppin is the floating lake sauna on Lake Ruppin, which, with a total area of 400 square meters, is the largest of its kind in Germany. Anyone who sits there, bathed in sweat, on a large swing and then jumps directly into the cool lake water immediately understands why this thermal spa must not be missing from any wellness list in Brandenburg.
But that’s not all. The Fontane Therme is also Brandenburg’s only state-recognized and certified healing spring. The iodine-rich brine healing water is extracted from a depth of approximately 1,700 meters and is particularly rich in minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and sodium. Three of the four water areas are filled with it, including a flotation pool with an 8 percent salt content and two outdoor pools with brine. During our visit, we already felt noticeably softer skin after the second bath.
Furthermore, two shower lanes with light effects, an ice grotto, a graduation tower for inhalation, and cozy relaxation rooms with a fireplace room and library ensure a well-rounded sauna and thermal spa day. In addition to the lake sauna, the sauna offerings also include a Finnish sauna, a bio sauna, a Laconium, a herbal bath, and a Hammam.
Thermal Spa, Spa, and Wellness: What awaits visitors?
In the beauty and spa area of the Fontane Therme, massages, Ayurveda treatments, peelings, cosmetic treatments, and full-body treatments are available. Couples will find suitable offers there, as will solo visitors who wish to specifically regenerate. In addition, a qualified team of physiotherapy, sports, and nutrition experts rounds off the health offerings.
The thermal spa is part of the four-star Resort Mark Brandenburg, which is also located directly on Lake Ruppin. Hotel guests have inclusive access to the entire wellness and bathing landscape, and there is also a bathrobe walkway directly between the hotel and the thermal spa. Day visitors book their tickets exclusively online, as capacities are limited. Opening hours start daily at 09:00, and the sauna area opens from 10:00. Various time slots from three to fourteen hours make the visit very flexible to plan.
Traveling from Berlin, the RE 6 towards Wittenberge to Neuruppin is recommended, alternatively the A24 motorway via the Neuruppin Süd exit.
