FEZ-Berlin during Easter Holidays: Expedition into Urban Nature

During the Easter holidays, FEZ-Berlin invites children and families to “Check & Discover – Urban Nature Adventure”. For two weeks, everything revolves around the fascinating animal and plant world right on your doorstep – with creative workshops, games, and nature experiences on the extensive FEZ grounds. So, whoever wants to make the most of the Easter holidays in Berlin will find two weeks of hands-on program on the extensive grounds. The program runs from March 28th to April 12th, Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 16:30, and on weekends and public holidays from 12:00 to 18:00 – day tickets cost 6.50 Euros, families of two or more pay 5 Euros each.

Berlin’s urban nature can be experienced with all senses: through urban gardening, making herbal salt or herbal soap, building insects from recycled materials, or creative work with natural dyes. In addition, real experts await the young researchers: On selected days, experts provide insights into their work – the Urban Nature Ranger team of the Berlin Nature Conservation Foundation shows the world of amphibians, while researchers from the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research introduce children to the city’s wild animals with skull quizzes, animal sounds, and animal tracks. You can also help with a scavenger hunt to find Berlin’s largest Easter egg and transform it into a colorful masterpiece.

A Playful Monument: FEZ-Berlin Under Monument Protection

FEZ is more than just a holiday program. It is Europe’s largest non-profit children’s, youth, and family center in Berlin’s Wuhlheide – and officially a monument since 2025. The Berlin State Monuments Office has placed the leisure and recreation center, the former Pioneer Palace “Ernst Thälmann”, in the Wuhlheide in Treptow-Köpenick under monument protection. With an area of 13,000 m² indoors and 175,000 m² outdoors, it offers space for a wide educational and cultural program for all generations.

So, whoever comes gets two experiences in one. Three theater stages, a children’s museum, the Orbitall Space Center, a swimming pool, the FEZino Children’s Cinema, attractive playgrounds, and a swimming lake are located on the premises. In addition, the ticket during the Easter holidays also entitles visitors to other offers: The interactive exhibition GREEN PLANET BERLIN presents inspiring ideas for an ecological city of the future, and admission to “Berlin’s Best Easter Holidays” directly includes a visit to this hands-on exhibition at Alice – Museum for Children. If you arrive by S-Bahn, it’s best to use the Berlin Wuhlheide station – parking spaces are scarce and subject to a fee.
