Biergarten Jockel: Sandbox between the Beer Tables

Biergarten Jockel is located on Ratiborstraße in Kreuzberg, a bit off the main roads yet easily accessible. On the large garden premises, there are long tables under trees, with space for children to run, and a sandbox is an integral part.

The kitchen offers burgers, tarte flambée, and changing daily specials, along with draught beer, lemonades, and cocktails. Orders are placed at the counter, which is more practical with children than waiter service, as you don’t have to wait for the right moment.

What Makes Jockel Practical for Families

The area is large enough that children’s noise doesn’t bother anyone, and expansive enough that you can keep an eye on the little ones without standing right next to them. In the early evening, the atmosphere shifts towards an after-work crowd; in the afternoons, the garden belongs to families.

It is open seasonally in the warmer half of the year. Görlitzer Park and the Landwehrkanal are just a few minutes away, so a walk can easily be combined with a visit.
