Fathers often had the dream to become a fireman themselves when they were little boys – now they can visit the Fire Department Museum with their kids and learn about the history of Berlins Fire Department. Here you can look at horse-drawn vehicles as well as modern motor vehicles. The Florimobil offers a virtual ride for kids.

Adults can get a guided tour and learn about the development of the Berlin Fire Department and children will learn how to protect themselves from fire in risky situations. Kindergarten and school classes as well as sport clubs are frequent visitors at the Fire Department Museum in Berlin. Also families are visiting the museum, which is located in the heart of Berlin-Tegel, and are arriving at the excursion destination by bus, car and public transport or even by a steamboat.

The “Historische Lehrschau” used to be a place for young firemen in training and was transformed into a destination with two cinemas and 14 theme areas like an underwater world or a smoke room, where a living room is filled with smoke. The Fire Department Museum Berlin provides insights of the history of firefighting as well as technical support and other emergency services. The museum opened back in 1983 and is now expecting its 250.000 visitor.
