Turkish breakfast as it should be: Meyan in Schöneberg's Goltzstraße is a Mediterranean deli café that impresses with homemade spreads, menemen from a copper pan, and warm neighborhood charm.
Menemen, Simit and ten Spreads: Breakfast at Meyan
The glass display case, the heart of the small shop, is lavishly filled: Pickled olives, Sigara Böreği, or meat pastries can be freely combined, plus over ten different homemade spreads. Besides classics like hummus or eggplant spread, there are also more unusual variations such as walnut-fig-goat cheese or mint cheese. The true centerpiece of the Turkish breakfast in Berlin, however, is the Menemen. It is prepared in a small copper pan and also eaten from it. Those who prefer it classic can opt for the crispy Simit. The breakfast menu also includes Eggs Benedict and Shakshuka. In the afternoons, Meyan entices with homemade cake and aromatic coffee.
A Fixture in the Nollendorf Kiez Since 2013

Goltzstraße is located in the Nollendorf Kiez in Schöneberg, known for its lively and diverse culinary scene. Those who explore further down the street will also find Bonvivant at Goltzstraße 32, which boasts a Michelin star for refined regional-seasonal cuisine and creative cocktail concepts.
