Sphere Tim Raue: Berlin’s Skyline as a Backdrop

At a height of 207 meters, the Berlin TV Tower, together with the multi-award-winning top chef Tim Raue, opened the Sphere Tim Raue restaurant with a 360-degree panorama and 200 seats. As the highest revolving restaurant in the European Union, the Sphere rotates twice an hour around its own axis. Those sitting by the window not only observe Berlin, but circle it. Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, Berlin Cathedral: the capital’s landmarks calmly pass by the table.

The design is an interplay of past and present: the Stuttgart-based DIA Dittel Architekten created a respectful homage to the 1960s with the new interior, restored original furniture, and supplemented it with modern elements such as 3D-printed components. Bright zones along the panoramic windows and darker service areas create a functional yet atmospheric spatial experience.

Berlin Classics with Two-Star Signature

The culinary concept at Sphere Tim Raue combines classics of Berlin and Brandenburg cuisine with Tim Raue’s typical world of flavors, consisting of sweetness, acidity, and spiciness. The menu features Berliner Schnitzel and Tim Raue’s world-famous Königsberger Klopse, a signature dish he once served Barack Obama at a state banquet. In addition, there are various menu formats: The Hot & Cold menu with currywurst and dessert costs 29 Euros, the vegan three-course menu and the Berliner Schnitzel menu each cost 44 Euros. The flagship menu “Meine Heimat” (My Homeland) offers a four-course journey through Tim Raue’s Berlin and Brandenburg, including an aperitif and accompanying beverages, for 125 Euros.

As a native Berliner, Raue brings his homeland, his roots, and the flavors of his childhood into a contemporary culinary concept, also bringing the story of his grandmother Gerda and the aromas of his childhood to the plate. Those who book early can also enjoy breakfast: the culinary experience begins in the morning. Until 11 AM, Sphere Tim Raue offers its own breakfast selection, from classic to vegan to waffle creations.
