Heimlich Treu

The cozy and glamorous restaurant Heimlich Treu serves creative tapas-sized dishes of the regional, seasonal cuisine for sharing.

Tucked away in the backyard of an entrance on Anklamer Straße in Berlin-Mitte visitors will discover the cozy restaurant Heimlich Treu. The furnishing concept of the surprisingly spacious restaurant is based on the country style of Nordic comfort. Earthy shades and whitewashed brick walls are very prominent. Comfy furs are on the floor and pillows on the wooden furniture add to the ambience. Large lamps immerse the room in dimmed light. However; the décor does not look cheesy at all, but rather refers to the industrial charm of the building.

Just to the left of the entrance to the restaurant guests see through a window directly into the kitchen. Heimlich Treu attaches great importance to a regional, seasonal cuisine with a high creative standard. The members of Heimlich Treu's kitchen team used to cook in prestigious Berlin restaurants such as First Floor or Store Kitchen at Soho House. At Heimlich Treu only small dishes are served to share at the table. These "tapas" each consist of three components, such as tuna with pumpkin and grappa or venison carpaccio with coffee and milk. The main courses such as halibut or smoke Entrcôte can be ordered as a small dish or as a main course. The dessert also consists of three components, for example lemon, tart, maldon.

Arnd Heissen, award-winning barman at the Ritz-Carlton, was the godfather of the cocktail menu. For the cocktails as well as for the sodas served in the restaurant, extraordinary essences such as fir, patchouli or bergamot are used.

The ambience at Heimlich Treu is unique but also family-like, the service is relaxed, friendly and professional. The waiters assist guests with their choice of food and drinks and explain each of the elaborately prepared food while serving.

In addition to the evening dinner the Heimlich Treu offers a lunch menu with delicious snacks from Monday to Friday between 12:00 pm to and 03:00 pm. In summer the restaurant opens its nice, quiet backyard terrace.
