French home-style cooking inspired by Lyonnaise cuisine awaits guests at the French restaurant on Maybachufer in Neukölln.
The cozy little French restaurant Le Saint Amour on Maybachufer in Neukölln welcomes its guests with French shabby chic. Upon entering, visitors are enveloped in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The interior of the small restaurant is characterized by dark wooden tables and sofas, dimmed lighting, numerous pictures on the yellow-washed walls, and a well-stocked bar opposite the entrance. Everyone should feel comfortable here.
The restaurant follows the tradition of Lyonnaise cuisine, which focuses primarily on authentic products. Chef Gerald Sapart from Lyon, who previously cooked in a 3-star restaurant in Valence, sources his products from regional producers in France. French home-style cooking is offered at reasonable prices. The 3-course menu costs 20 Euros, and main courses are around 10 Euros. The handwritten menu on chalkboards features classics of Lyonnaise cuisine and changing seasonal dishes. For example, the typical Lyonnaise specialty “quenelles de brochet”, pike dumplings with Nantua sauce (fish sauce) and rice, is served. The changing monthly menu at Le Saint Amour boasts dishes such as frog legs in parsley, snails in garlic butter, pistachio sausage, or beef cheeks à la Beaujolaise.
Dinner at Le Saint Amour concludes with classic French desserts like chocolate fondant or crème brûlée. A cozy dinner at Le Saint Amour is accompanied by an excellent selection of French wines.
