Where Charlottenburg meets Currywurst: Curry Wolf on Ku'damm is located directly on Breitscheidplatz, with a view of the Memorial Church. The original Berlin Currywurst has been served here for over 20 years, in a way that you won't soon forget.
Currywurst in Berlin since 2004: A cult on Ku’damm
Curry Wolf’s company history began in 2004 with a tiny five-square-meter stand on Kurfürstendamm. What started as a small snack bar back then is now one of the most famous Currywurst establishments in Berlin’s City-West. In 2012, the stall was renamed: “im biss – Curry und mehr” became Curry Wolf. The flagship store is located on the famous shopping boulevard Kurfürstendamm, directly opposite the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church on Breitscheidplatz. This means you are not only well-fed but also perfectly located. Anyone coming from shopping, strolling from Bahnhof Zoo, or KaDeWe will almost inevitably pass by here. And once you’ve stopped, you won’t want to leave quickly.
What can you order at Curry Wolf?
Currywurst in Berlin is all about the classics, and Curry Wolf takes that seriously. The original Berlin Currywurst is available with and without casing, served with the typical tomatoey Curry Wolf Ketchup, as well as curry and paprika powder and Worcestershire sauce. What particularly caught our eye during our visit: the homemade “OPIUM” sauce, available in three levels of spiciness, deserves special mention, as its name is to be understood as a friendly warning about its addictive potential. Mild, medium, or really hot: you choose how much you dare. The crispy, longer-stemmed fries are the perfect accompaniment, and these are, of course, also available with mayonnaise. Those who don’t want a sausage also have options: the menu also includes a vegan Currywurst for 4.70 Euros, a vegan Curry Wolf Hot Dog, and vegan meatballs with coleslaw and fries. This means there’s something for everyone who prefers plant-based options. And if you want to extend your snack bar visit a bit: Curry Wolf even offers Currywurst Gin, wine, and Moët. That somehow fits on Ku’damm.
