SPA InterContinental

Tiergarten

Inside the listed hotel building on Budapester Strasse lies a wellness area of 1,000 square metres with a heated indoor pool, a whirlpool, a sauna landscape and several treatment rooms. There are also two fitness areas and a planted sun terrace at the back of the house. Day guests can book the complete area after reserving in advance.

Listed Hotel Building by the Tiergarten

The SPA InterContinental belongs to the hotel at Budapester Strasse 2, right by the Tiergarten and a walk away from the Brandenburg Gate. The nearest hub is Zoologischer Garten station with suburban and underground lines, and anyone arriving by car uses the hotel garage with its 126 spaces or the car park at Bikini Berlin a few doors along. The building itself went up in 1958 and reopened in 1978 as the InterContinental Berlin; it was designed by the architects William Pereira and Charles Luckman and is a listed landmark today. Between 2019 and 2023 the house was renovated for 64 million euros, with a new design and better usability, without giving up its original character. The location is unusually good for a day spa: the Tiergarten begins opposite, the zoo and the Landwehrkanal are within walking distance, and the bustle of the City West stays one street away. Inside the building, Hugos, Marlene and the L.A. Café provide three places to eat.

Pool, Sauna Landscape and Sun Terrace Across 1,000 Square Metres

The wellness area of the SPA InterContinental extends across 1,000 square metres, which makes it one of the largest hotel spas in the city. At its core is a heated indoor pool, complemented by a whirlpool and a sauna landscape. Several treatment rooms are set aside for massages and cosmetic treatments, which the house offers together with a spa partner. There are also two fitness areas, accessible at any time and open from the age of sixteen. At the back of the hotel lies a sun terrace with loungers and a view into the green, extending the area outdoors as the year allows. Day guests without a hotel booking are welcome but have to reserve in advance: two hours in the complete spa including the sauna cost 60 euros per person, and a full day 100 euros. Children up to fifteen pay half price, and from sixteen the full rate applies. Hotel guests pay considerably less, and for guests of the Club InterContinental admission is included in the room rate. Anyone who wants to stay longer combines the visit with a treatment booked through the spa reception.
