Kräuter-Mian

Eftekhar Mian's warehouse sale at Volkspark Humboldthain offers nearly 500 items, including twenty chili varieties up to Carolina Reaper and seventeen pepper varieties from Timut to Andaliman. The house blends, from rose harissa to chakalaka, are made according to their own recipes. For exotic spices and ingredients, this is one of the most comprehensive addresses in Wedding.
Kräuter-Mian: Spice Shop at Volkspark Humboldthain in Wedding
Kräuter-Mian is located at Hochstraße 14A directly at Volkspark Humboldthain, on the border between Mitte and Wedding. It’s about a 300-meter walk from S-Bahnhof Humboldthain, bus stop Humboldtsteg of line 247 is approximately 100 meters away, and there are still free parking spaces in the side streets.
Behind the shop door is not a classic retail store, but a warehouse sale. Owner Eftekhar Mian sells exclusively in small packages and deliberately avoids wholesale. Nearly 500 items are permanently in stock, sorted by spices, herbs, tea, salts, and their own exclusive series. The step in front of the entrance is high, so the team helps with entry or serves directly at the door if desired. Payments in the store can be made by card or contactless via smartphone.
Twenty Chili Varieties, Seventeen Peppers, and Exotic Ingredients from Their Own Blends
The chili department ranges from mild chili threads and green jalapeños to the Carolina Reaper, which has been listed in the Guinness Book as the world’s hottest chili since 2013 with around two million Scoville units. Habanero, Bhut Jolokia, and Carolina Reaper are available whole dried, crushed, and as flakes, and their own heat scale from one to ten helps with classification. Additionally, there are seventeen pepper varieties, sometimes eighteen depending on the harvest, including Timut pepper from Nepal and wild-harvested Andaliman. Among the herbs, Greek oregano stands out, which is wild and hand-picked; next to it are curry leaves, kaffir lime leaves, black cardamom, mace, barberries from Iran, and Afghan saffron in whole threads.
The core of the profile consists of their own blends made according to their own recipes, such as rose harissa, berbere, chubritza, biryani masala, tabil, or chakalaka. Thirteen different curries, salts, salt lamps, and granite mortars complement the assortment. The salsa and avocado spice costs 3.00 Euros for fifty grams, ten grams of whole Carolina Reaper cost 5.50 Euros. Those who cannot make it to Wedding can also find Kräuter-Mian with stalls at the weekly markets at Hackescher Markt, Maybachufer, Winterfeldtplatz, Kollwitzplatz, and Boxhagener Platz.
