Köpenick Palace Café: Get Married on the Palace Island

Köpenick Baroque Palace was built between 1677 and 1690 according to plans by Rutger van Langervelt and Johann Arnold Nering; today it is a branch of the Museum of Decorative Arts, admission costs 8 Euros, reduced 4 Euros. The Palace Café is part of the ensemble and is located on the same island in the Dahme river, in the former economic buildings. Celebrations take place in the café and in the banqueting hall, on the weatherproof terrace, in the pagoda tent, on the lawn by the water, in the Aurora Hall of the palace, and in the late 17th-century Baroque garden.

In the warmer months, up to 120 guests can be accommodated in a weatherproof setting; in winter, the capacity is 80. The island also features the palace church with its historic Baroque organ, where church weddings can be held. Access, indoor and outdoor areas, and toilets are barrier-free, and a changing room is available.

What a Wedding on the Palace Island Costs

The venue operates without a classic room rental fee, instead using minimum spend requirements: During peak season, this minimum spend on food and drinks on weekends ranges between 6,000 and 9,000 Euros. The wedding package with buffet starts at 41 Euros per person, the more extensive option is 65 Euros. The beverage flat rate costs 11 Euros per guest per hour, or 16 Euros with long drinks. For exclusive use of the location including pagoda tent, terrace, lighting and sound system, and final cleaning, an additional 39.50 Euros per person applies.

For the cooler months, there is a package for 99 Euros per person including menu or buffet and five hours of drinks, bookable for a minimum of 20 guests. A brought-in wedding cake incurs a cutting fee of 2.50 Euros per guest; personal drinks are not permitted. Civil ceremonies take place at Köpenick City Hall, only 150 meters away; free ceremonies are held by the water, in the park, or in the Aurora Hall. The venue does not provide technology for the ceremony.
