Insl Kyritz

A real island in Brandenburg's Untersee, just an hour's drive from Berlin: Insl Kyritz in Kyritz an der Knatter is one of the most romantic wedding venues north of the capital. Civil ceremony directly on the south shore, beer garden, lake view, and a nautical atmosphere included.
Getting Married on Insl Kyritz: Saying “I Do” with a Lake View
The Insl is indeed a genuine island, completely surrounded by the beautiful Untersee in Kyritz an der Knatter. Even the journey there is special: The electric ferry Polly Piff Paff silently and quietly chugs between Bantikow, Kyritz, and the Insl, powered by green electricity. So, the path to your own wedding here leads via a ferry. And the civil registry office comes along too. Since 2015, the Insl has operated as an external branch of the Kyritz an der Knatter civil registry office. From Easter to October, couples can have a civil ceremony as part of a so-called “Sailor’s Wedding” every Wednesday and Thursday with up to 30 guests. Free ceremonies are also possible: In cooperation with the Kyritz registry office, ceremonies can take place directly on the south shore, close to the water.
Brandenburg’s Dolce Vita as a Wedding Backdrop
The Insl is a modern inn with a spacious beer garden and island park, as well as a creative event venue. The program for the big day can be put together as desired. Civil or free ceremonies on the south shore with views of swans and sailboats, bubbles and canapés picnic-style on the lawn, or a dinner directly on the north shore under the crimson evening sky are all part of the offer. A special feature of Insl Kyritz is its diverse culinary offering. The kitchen team places great importance on regional ingredients and creates menus that combine traditional and modern influences. Wedding couples don’t have to miss out in winter either: While the beer garden goes into hibernation from October to Easter, the Insl is happy to open exclusively for events during this time. A day on the Insl feels like a week’s holiday, and that without a long journey. It’s not without reason that the Untersee is affectionately called the Côte d’Azur of Brandenburg.
