With roots dating back to 1993, La Mambita at Kolonnenstraße 29 is Berlin's salsa dance school with the longest tradition, bringing LA-style to the city in 1999. In Schöneberg, Salsa LA, NY, and Cubana are offered as drop-in classes in a 150-square-meter hall. For salsa classes in Berlin, this means: no registration needed, just drop by for a trial lesson for 10 Euros.

La Mambita: Salsa Tradition since 1993 in Schöneberg

La Mambita’s history dates back to 1993, then still with Salsa Cubana. In 1999, the school brought the Salsa CrossBodyStyle from Los Angeles to Berlin and has since been considered the dance school with the longest salsa tradition in the city. Today, the team teaches at Kolonnenstraße 29 in Schöneberg. The path leads via a private road into the third courtyard, where a 150-square-meter dance hall is located on the first floor. In addition, there is a training room for private lessons and individual practice. All teachers speak English and teach bilingually upon request.

Drop-in Classes in LA, NY and Cubana Style

The schedule includes Salsa LA (On1), Salsa NY (On2), and Salsa Cubana, as well as Bachata, Kizomba, ChaChaChá, Lady Styling, Standard/Latin, and Tango Argentino. All courses are drop-in: you come without registration, as a couple or alone, and join at any time. A trial lesson costs 10 Euros, a 10-class pass 130 Euros. Those who dance several times a week save money with monthly packages between 50 and 109 Euros. You can directly try out what you’ve learned at the in-house socials like the Mambo Café and the Salsa Party.
