Lokschuppen: Suicide Circus became a new address

The club opened in 1994 as Suicide Circus on Dircksenstraße, founded by Ralf Brendeler and named after the band Suicide. In 1999, it closed, followed by several locations, and since 2009, the club has been on the RAW Gelände with an entrance via Warschauer Brücke. In 2024, it got a new name: Lokschuppen Berlin. The rest remained as it was: raw hall character, an indoor floor, and an open-air area where music is played simultaneously in summer. The operating company is still called Suicide Circus Berlin, and you can tell inside that nothing here has been polished. The surrounding RAW Gelände was once a railway repair workshop, and the hall where the club plays is part of this late 19th-century complex.

Collectives, five-euro nights and Chantal’s House of Shame

The program is largely curated by collectives: Formula 90, Pfandidos, and GabberIndustries Berlin bring groove, trance, hardtechno, hardcore, and house to the venue; past line-ups have included DJ Rush, Ellen Allien, Brutalismus 3000, and MCR-T. Since 2018, Chantal’s House of Shame, one of the city’s oldest queer party series, sex-positive and featuring drag performances, has been held here. Additionally, there are in-house series like Phase:one, Obsidia, Goatball, Candyflip, and Signals, whose tickets cost five euros. Since 2025, Lokschuppen has been running its own recording format, the Pool Series, with weekly DJ sets going online. Admission is 18+ with ID; there is no strict dress code. At the bar, all common cards except American Express are accepted, and for the cloakroom, there are lockers that can be paid for via QR code and opened as often as desired with a four-digit PIN.
