Marlene Bar

Located in Tiergarten, directly within the InterContinental Berlin, the Marlene Bar is one of the capital's most renowned hotel bars. The interior, designed by London studio Goddard Littlefair, combines metropolitan glamour with classic elegance. And the cocktail menu? A tribute to 100 years of bar culture and Berlin's greatest diva.
The Marlene Bar: Where Berlin Bar Culture Meets Hotel Glamour
Nomen est Omen. The Marlene Bar at the luxury InterContinental Berlin hotel is dedicated to Marlene Dietrich, and you can feel it everywhere. Film posters, a large natural stone fireplace with the Marlene lettering, and numerous charming details run throughout the entire space. Even the coasters bear Marlene’s profile, and the beer selection includes the Marlene Bar Pale Ale, specially brewed by the traditional Berlin brewery Lemke. This is far from an ordinary hotel bar.
The interior was recently fundamentally modernized. Black marble tiles, dark wood paneling, mirrored floor panels, and shimmering brass elements characterize the look, which upon closer inspection still feels bright and inviting. The long, open bar is a visual focal point, and the furniture combines metropolitan glamour with classic chic. This creates a setting that works for both after-work drinks and special evenings.
Cocktails with History: 100 Years of Bar Culture in a Glass
What truly sets the Marlene Bar apart is its cocktail menu. The impressive menu takes guests on a journey through the history of cocktails, linking over 100 years of tradition with the life stages of Marlene Dietrich. A curated selection of the five most iconic signature drinks was created as a culinary homage to Marlene Dietrich’s legacy and the soul of Berlin. Furthermore, with approximately 250 square meters and 120 seats, the bar offers enough space to comfortably settle down for a second cocktail after the first. This makes the Marlene Bar one of the fixed points among cocktail bars in Berlin’s luxury hotels.
