Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten

For the 1981 film "Christiane F. - We Children from Bahnhof Zoo", director Bernd Eichinger captured the authentic atmosphere of the original location behind the station building.
At that time, parts of “Christiane F. – We Children from Bahnhof Zoo” were filmed with amateur actors in and around the station building. The Zoologischer Garten station is also one of the central locations of “Emil and the Detectives” in the original film version from 1931. The Zoopalast cinema in the vicinity was also the central venue for the Berlinale until the reconstruction of Potsdamer Platz!
During the division of Berlin, Bahnhof Zoo was the most important transport hub in the west of the city. Today, subway line U2 serves the East-West connection of the city, and line U9 approximately serves the North-South direction. In addition, numerous S-Bahn and bus lines run via Zoo.
Due to the easily accessible connection to Kurfürstendamm and the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church at Breitscheidplatz, which are further symbols of the city, the area around Bahnhof Zoo is repeatedly featured in various articles as well as TV and film productions about the city.
