The Museum of Photography is located directly behind the Zoo station and houses the Helmut Newton Foundation as well as the Photography Collection of the Art Library. On the two lower floors of the building, the permanent exhibition “Helmut Newton’s Private Property” with works by Helmut Newton and his wife Alice Springs is on display alongside changing exhibitions.

The Berlin photographer became famous for his editorial work for the influential fashion magazine “Vogue” and other magazines. From the 1970s Helmut Newton was considered one of the most sought-after fashion, advertising and portrait photographers in the world. Meanwhile the pictures have cult status and are a must see for photography fans.

The Museum of Photography is a magnet for photography enthusiasts from all over the world. Over a million visitors have visited the exhibitions in recent years.
