The Mandala Hotel at Potsdamer Platz is the only owner-run luxury hotel in Berlin and has the largest rooms of any five-star house in the city. Inside are FACIL with its two Michelin stars and the ONO Spa of 600 square metres on the eleventh floor, plus a gym on the roof that is open around the clock. Pets are not allowed.

At Potsdamer Platz, Opposite the Sony Center

The Mandala Hotel is located at Potsdamer Straße 3, with its entrance directly opposite the Sony Center. Getting around the city is accordingly quick: The Mall of Berlin at Leipziger Platz and the Philharmonie are both about a two-minute walk away, the Holocaust Memorial and the Martin-Gropius-Bau four, the Brandenburg Gate and the Neue Nationalgalerie five, and the Reichstag six. The U- and S-Bahn station Potsdamer Platz and the bus terminal there are also a two-minute walk away, and the exhibition grounds can be reached in a good 26 minutes with the U2. Those arriving by car drive via Ludwig-Beck-Straße into the public underground car park, which costs 30 euros per day and from which an elevator leads directly into the hotel; charging points are available on the same level. The building originated from a residential building that Daimler started in 1997 and which was converted into serviced apartments at the request of the group. It is two kilometers to the main train station and 26 to BER Airport.

Ten Room Categories from 40 to 200 Square Meters

The hotel opened in 1999 with 159 rooms under the name The Madison, and since then it has belonged to the same two entrepreneurs who still manage it themselves today. This is the real special feature: The Mandala is not a chain hotel. The studios and suites are spread across ten categories ranging from 40 to 200 square meters, from the City Studio to the Executive Suite with 60 and the Mandala Suite with 85 square meters, up to the Penthouse Top of the Town with 200 square meters. The rooms are brightly decorated, with white walls, light wood, and unusually generous storage and work areas. The gourmet restaurant FACIL on the fifth floor, under executive chef Michael Kempf, holds two Michelin stars, the first since 2003, the second since 2013. The QIU on the first floor is both a bar and restaurant, with business lunch starting at 19 Euros. The ONO Spa spans 600 square meters on the eleventh floor and offers panoramic city views; massages and cosmetic treatments are by appointment. A 100 square meter fitness studio on the roof is also accessible around the clock.
