The Märkisches Museum in Berlin-Mitte offers an open printing workshop as a family program during Advent 2017. This is how beautiful Christmas gifts are created.
An open printing workshop during Advent – that’s the family program at the Märkisches Museum Berlin in Köllnischer Park in Berlin-Mitte for the pre-Christmas season 2017. Children and adults jointly work on plexiglass sheets with engraving tools. There are no limits to the choice of motifs, whether Christmas-themed or entirely according to the children’s wishes. Then the large wheel of the real printing press is turned, and the artwork appears.
Small children print with their whole hand or with a potato. But no matter which technique is used: every sheet is an original and thus also a beautiful gift idea for Christmas. The workshop is led by the freelance artist Florian Ehrich. Admission is free for children up to 18 years old!
The printing workshop takes place in the beautiful red brick building between Köllnischer Park and the Spree embankment, where the Märkisches Museum Berlin is located. The Märkisches Museum is a specialist in Berlin city history, so adults will also gain something from visiting the museum.
