Visit on Valentine’s Day a wine bar that promises happiness! The concept of the wine bar Schwein stands for wine and happiness on three pillars: wine, food and long drinks. First the wine bar opened in Berlin-Mitte and was celebrated there by gastro critics and fans. When the bar closed in Mitte, the Schwein bar was sorely missed by many wine lovers and gourmets. Meanwhile the wine bar and restaurant Schwein is located in Berlin-Charlottenburg near Savignyplatz and offers “Bistronomy”, a mix of bistro and gastronomy on a high level.
The restaurant and wine bar Schwein appeals to people who enjoy food and it offers them many delights, regardless of whether the guest chooses a 5-course menu or just a glass of wine. On Valentine’s Day, however, you should take your time for a menu. The cuisine is excellent and fine dining is in harmony with bar food. The Weinbar Schwein has created a menu for 14 February that goes excellently with the wine. It begins with pâté, cherry gel and bitter salad, followed by celery, bouillon and horseradish. Skrei is then served with Jerusalem artichoke and pancetta, followed by honey, caramel and yoghurt at the end.
The cuisine is characterised by international style, but focuses on regional products. The repertoire of the wine bar includes 165 varieties of good wines and 100 varieties of gin. Experimental guests can choose a surprise menu with corresponding wines. A cosy fireplace provides a warm and friendly atmosphere in the dark season. In summer, a terrace invites you to linger. Host David Monnie and chef de cuisine Christopher Kümper do everything they can to ensure that guests feel completely at home, not just on Valentine’s Day.
