On Leonhardtstraße in Charlottenburg, Bruderherz combines excellent artisanal cuisine, homemade pasta from its own manufactory, and familial warmth at a high level.

Restaurant Bruderherz: Homemade Pasta from Charlottenburg

Behind Bruderherz are the Polish brothers Tomasz and Michal Sokolowski. Thus, the name is no coincidence, but a mission. Even though their surname doesn’t sound very Italian, the two have long since earned their place in Berlin’s top gastronomy scene. Tomasz gained his fine-dining experience through numerous travels through Sicily, among other things. He also spent eight years at Restaurant Schwarzenraben in Mitte, where he refined his feel for Italian cuisine.

Bruderherz operates like a neighborhood trattoria, with a menu that changes monthly and pasta dough made fresh every morning from organic durum wheat semolina in its in-house manufactory. Tagliolini are served wafer-thin, ravioli silky soft, while lasagna and cannelloni are created in the same space. This is how honest Italian craftsmanship is done in Berlin.

Creative Cuisine Without Dogma

Guests can expect an honest yet highly refined cuisine, free from rigid dogmas. The menu features, for example, tortellini with lamb, cardamom and sage butter, grilled octopus with pea cream, or meatballs with truffle. Once a month, the menu adapts to the season, making every visit worthwhile. A selection of German and Italian wines perfectly complements the offerings. If you visit in summer, don’t miss the terrace: it’s located on a wide sidewalk in a very quiet area and invites you to linger. Bruderherz is one of the most compelling addresses for an evening in Charlottenburg.
