A pleasant feeling welcomes the visitors when entering WinterJurte61 in Berlin-Schöneberg. The warm yellow-lit tent already suggests from the outside that you can warm up inside comfortably. A yurt is the traditional tent of nomads in Western and Central Asia and is particularly prevalent in cold areas such as Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. The winter yurt in Berlin is located somewhat hidden in the Naumannstraße in Schöneberg on the grounds of East61, a beach volleyball hall, which serves as the winter camp of the sports park and beach volleyball area Beach61 at Gleisdreieckpark.
The yurt can accommodate up to 60 people. Due to the round shape of the traditional tent all guests sit together in a cozy, convivial atmosphere. When you visit the yurt with friends you are quickly surrounded by a murmur of voices, delicious scents and cozy warmth. Here, all guests traditionally sit relaxing on pillows on wooden stools at small tables. In the middle of the yurt, blazing fires crackle in the fireplace. You can order warm drinks and snacks at the small bar. In addition to hot mulled wine there are various tea and coffee specialties as well as wines, beers and soft drinks. Soups, pizza from the stone oven and oven cheese with bread are offered.
The winter experience is perfectly completed by the curling rink at the outdoor area. Strengthened and warmed up you can play a round of curling here and compete against each other in teams. The 1,000 m² outdoor area of WinterJurte with campfire and covered seating can be booked as well as the tent itself for events such as Christmas parties, corporate events and birthdays. Even individual wishes can be implemented on the premises.
