The centrovital in Berlin-Spandau is one of Berlin's few wellness hotel spas that combines a complete sauna landscape, Ayurveda, day spa, and a 25-meter pool under the roof of a listed brick brewery. Those looking to escape the stress of the big city while still enjoying a full-fledged spa hotel experience will find an excellent address here by Lake Spandau.
A Wellness Hotel Spa with History and Substance
In 2004, the listed building of the brewery courtyard was opened under the name centrovital after several years of restoration and renovation. Since then, centrovital has united a hotel, a Spa & Sportclub, a Day Spa & Ayurveda Center, and a diverse gastronomic offering under one roof. Behind the historic brick facade of the former Schultheiss brewery, modern lightness combines with tradition.
The centrovital SPA & Sportclub is open daily from 7 to 22 o’clock and spans approximately 3,500 qm with a water world featuring a 25-meter indoor pool, a therapy pool, and a whirlpool. The water temperature is pleasantly maintained at 30 to 32 degrees Celsius. What particularly impressed us is the variety of the sauna landscape: an Ottoman steam bath, a Finnish dry cabin, a bio-sauna, a herbal inhalation stone, an ice igloo, and a log cabin sauna on the rooftop terrace are available. Hourly changing infusions are offered, and after a sauna session, relaxation rooms invite you to linger. All this on two floors and with a view of Lake Spandau.
Massages, Treatments, and What They Cost
The centrovital Day Spa offers a wide selection of bookable treatments. Options include a Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Nui massage, a warming Hot Stone massage, or a deeply relaxing Herbal Siam massage. The Indian head massage promises exceptional relaxation, while classic partial or full-body massages complete the offer. For those who prefer a more holistic approach: The Ayurveda Center offers authentic Ayurvedic treatments, including Shirodara, the Ayurvedic forehead oil pouring, and the Abhyanga full-body massage. The Abhyanga full-body massage (60 min.) costs around 75 Euros per person, which we consider fair compared to other Berlin hotel spas. Tea is served with the treatments, pleasantly rounding off the experience.
Day guests are very welcome: advance booking is not required for visiting the pool and sauna area. A late check-out until 17 o’clock including spa use can also be booked for 30 Euros. However, those who wish to stay all day benefit as hotel guests: a rich breakfast buffet and use of the wellness area are included in the overnight price. Food and drinks can also be enjoyed on site: Restaurant emil’s with a lakeside terrace, Bar & Bistro La Havanita, and the Rooftop Bar in the summer months provide catering at any time of day, all at an additional cost.
