Where history literally resides within the walls: The Irene Forte Spa at Hotel de Rome is located in the former vault chambers of Dresdner Bank on Bebelplatz, making it one of the most atmospherically rich wellness hotel spas in the city. Sicilian botanicals, Berlin grandezza, and Berlin's longest hotel pool under marble columns.

Wellness in the Vault: Rooms that Tell a Story

The Irene Forte Spa is located in the former bank vault from 1889 and spans over 800 square meters. Originally, the spa was known as Spa de Rome. At the end of 2024, it was reopened as Irene Forte Spa, bringing a Mediterranean wellness concept to Berlin. Hotel de Rome is thus the first hotel in Germany to operate an Irene Forte Spa.

The heart of it all is, of course, the pool. The 20-meter indoor pool is Berlin’s longest hotel pool, inviting guests to swim amidst golden mosaics and original marble columns. It feels less like a hotel bath and more like a private Roman bathhouse. The thermal area also includes a steam bath, a Finnish sauna, an ice fountain, Kneipp footbaths, and a relaxation area. Additionally, there are five treatment rooms, including a double treatment suite. So, those looking to relax as a couple are perfectly catered for here. The spa is open daily from 8 AM to 9 PM, with the sauna and steam bath open from 10 AM to 9 PM.

Treatments, Massages, and What the Day Spa Pass Costs

All treatments are performed by an experienced team of therapists using Irene Forte Skincare products, enriched with botanical active ingredients from the Verdura Resort’s organic farm in Sicily. Among the treatment offerings, the signature program particularly stands out. Highlights include the Etna Age-Defying Facial, which combines hot and cold volcanic stones from Mount Etna with a triple facial massage technique. The Mediterranean Nourishing Treatment is a lavish full-body ritual with apricot peeling and Trapani sea salt, followed by a soothing massage with Sicilian oils, which we consider among the most sensual body treatments offered by Berlin hotel spas.

The Day Spa Pass includes access to and use of all spa facilities, as well as towels, bathrobes, slippers, refreshing drinks, tea, and fresh fruit. Separate snacks or meals are available at an additional cost. The steam bath, sauna, and relaxation rooms can also be used free of charge with a treatment value of 160 Euros or more.
