LEGO Store on Tauentzienstraße near Wittenbergplatz

Between Wittenbergplatz and Gedächtniskirche, Tauentzienstraße is one of the city’s busiest shopping streets, and right in the middle is Berlin’s most famous brand store for building blocks. The LEGO Store reopened here in 2025 after moving a few steps from house number 20 to number 8. The old building is to be replaced; the new store is more compact than its predecessor but is even closer to Wittenbergplatz. It should not be confused with the second Berlin brand store in the Mall of Berlin at Leipziger Platz, which carries its own assortment. The nearest station is U-Bahnhof Wittenbergplatz, where the U1, U2, and U3 stop and which has an elevator. Those coming by bus can get off the M19, M29, or M46 and will be at the door after a few meters. All around are the large department stores of Tauentzien, which allows the visit to be easily combined with other errands, and Wittenbergplatz itself offers an outdoor break.

DIY and Customizable Gifts for Children

The store is less about pre-packaged sets and more about what you can’t get elsewhere. At the Pick-A-Brick wall, loose individual pieces are available in containers, from which everyone can fill their own cup, sorted by shape and color. Next to it is the tower where you can assemble your own minifigures from a large selection of torsos, legs, heads, hairstyles, and accessories. These two stations make a visit more interesting for children than any online order, because the gift is created by themselves and no one else has the exact same thing. A demo table invites visitors to try things out, staff help find the right set, and those who sign up for the Insiders program get early access to new products. Several times a month, the LEGO Store also hosts building events and competitions where all age groups can participate. For classic gifts for children, Classic boxes are available, starting at around 10 Euros for the smallest variant and going up to about 50 Euros for the large building block box.
