Since 1936, the Spandau family manufacturer Wurstwaren Mischau at Wiesendamm has been producing Berlin sausage specialties according to its own recipes. Over 300 own products, including the original Berlin Currywurst, fresh liver sausage, and the Berlin Schinkenknacker, are available for purchase directly in their in-house 'Leckerladen' (delicatessen).

Wurstwaren Mischau: Berlin Butchery since Three Generations

The Mischau family originally hails from Silesia, where master butcher Richard Mischau founded his first business for producing ham, cooked, raw, and scalded sausages in 1936. In 1955, a shop was finally opened in Berlin-Spandau, and by 1962, the current company headquarters at Wiesendamm 29-31 was established. Still family-owned today, the company is now managed by the third generation: siblings Richard Mischau III and Britta Mischau. So, anyone looking for an authentic Berlin food outlet that values artisanal tradition will find what they’re looking for here.

Mischau sells around 300 own products to its customers, solely from the sausage sector. These include scalded sausages like Wiener Würstchen, Currywurst, and Bierschinken, but also cooked sausages like liver and blood sausage, as well as high-quality ham products. The Original Berlin Currywurst, in particular, is equally popular among Berliners and travelers alike and is even available at Mischau in several variations: with casing, without casing, and as the original “Curry 36″.

The “Leckerladen”: Food Outlet directly at the Factory Premises

In Mischau’s in-house “Leckerladen”, there is a wide range of sausage and ham specialties, an extensive meat assortment, and fresh deli salads. Those who wish can also eat directly on site: a snack offering is available daily, ranging from sandwiches and Bockwurst with marjoram to homemade meatballs and a daily changing stew. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Currywurst with a bun is also served. The “Leckerladen” in Spandau is open Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM and Saturday from 8 AM to 1 PM. Additionally, a Click-and-Collect offer in the online shop allows for flexible and convenient shopping.
