Lemke’s Lädchen, the factory outlet of the Lemke company, which has been producing fine Berlin marzipan since 1902, is located on Späthstraße in the Britz district of Neukölln. The name is rarely found in supermarkets, as the company has been supplying professional customers from the confectionery, bakery, and sweet goods industries for decades and is behind many marzipan articles sold nationwide under private labels. So, if you’ve ever eaten Niederegger or Feodora, you may have already enjoyed Lemke semi-finished products.

The fact that the founding story actually originates from a pharmacy makes it even more interesting: The founders of the first Berlin marzipan paste factory, Georg Lemke and Benno Markus, were pharmacists. So it’s no surprise that quality here is not just a marketing promise. The marzipan shop offers the best quality, even with a 52 percent almond content.

Lemke Factory Outlet: Sweet Deals in 60 Square Meters

Around 300 to 400 different confectionery items can be found in just 60 square meters. The assortment is wider than one might expect: In addition to marzipan and marzipan products, nougat and nougat products are also available directly from the manufacturer, complemented by a large selection of other sweets at reduced prices. The shelves contain, among other things, raw marzipan paste, marzipan figures, layered nougat, nougat cream, almond cream, and pralines. Newer product lines have also been added: The assortment includes classic marzipan specialties, nut purees, spreads, and crispy roasted almonds.

However, visitors should know one thing: The food outlet in Berlin-Britz is not easy to find, but a visit is always worthwhile. The offer is also seasonal, which is why a trip just before Christmas or Easter is particularly rewarding. Incidentally, the shop still houses the last of what were once 20 marzipan kettles from 1955, which gives the small factory outlet its own unique, charming touch.
