Schlosspark Theater

The Schlosspark Theater in Steglitz is Berlin's most charming private theater: Director Dieter Hallervorden has been staging comedies, readings, and concerts that appeal to all generations – from nephew to grandmother – in the neoclassical building since 2009.
Where History Meets The Joy of Performance
If you’re planning a theater evening with parents or relatives that entertains and connects, the Schlosspark Theater is the right place. Located in the Berlin district of Steglitz, its history dates back to 1804. In 1921, the theater moved into the economic wing of Wrangelschlösschen, which was then converted to accommodate 440 seats. Even in the post-war era, it was a prime address: Hildegard Knef, Klaus Kinski, and Martin Held were part of the ensemble. Today, Dieter Hallervorden primarily shapes the venue, operating the traditional theater as a private theater since 2008. The motto is simple: “Spirit with Humor.”
Schlosspark Theater: Activities for the Whole Family
What makes the Schlosspark Theater special as an activity with parents and relatives is the breadth of its program. Each season typically features six in-house productions, along with guest performances, cabaret, readings, concerts, and dance performances. The focus is on internally produced plays, often starring well-known film, TV, and stage actors. Most recently, Hallervorden himself caused a stir: with his program “Unkaputtbar – 90 Years of Hallervorden,” he premiered at the Schlosspark Theater in May 2026. For an evening with parents or grandparents that combines warmth, wit, and a genuine stage experience, it’s worth checking the schedule.
